Annie Harman Obituary

Harman Annie Ruth McMillen Harman, age 90, died on January 4, 2017 in Columbus, Ohio. Ruth was born September 11, 1926 to Samuel and Emma (Martin) McMillen in Home, Pennsylvania. On June 26, 1948 she married William Russell Harman of Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. They spent the first half of their marriage living in various towns in Western Pennsylvania. In 1982 she and Bill moved to Columbus, Ohio to be near their daughters. Together Ruth and Bill lived a life of service to their Lord Jesus Christ, to their church, to their family, and to their friends. Ruth taught Sunday School for 30 years, served as a deaconess at her church, prayed with the Alliance Women for missionaries around the world, and hosted exceptional dinners for family and friends. Ruth loved homemaking, growing beautiful flowers, crafting, and traveling. Most of all she loved going back to her beloved home state of Pennsylvania where she could reminisce about wonderful childhood memories and spend time with her relatives. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Lois (Bob) Arthur of Westerville, Ohio, Carolyn (Steve) Rand of Dublin, Ohio, and Gloria Harman of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, David Arthur of Westerville, Ohio, Josh Arthur of Pompano Beach, Florida, and Jenny (Rick) DeJong of Johnstown, Ohio; great grandchildren, Eliza, Annika, Caleb, and Audrey DeJong; brothers, Howard (Corene) of Clinton, Tennessee and Richard (Dorothy) of Chesapeake, Virginia; sisters, Mary Minser of Home, Pennsylvania and Jane Brocious of Greenville, Pennsylvania; and sister-in-law, Helen McMillen of Marion Center, Pennsylvania. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill of 65 years, and her brother John. Visitation will be at SHAW-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 4341 N. High St., Columbus, Ohio on Thursday, January 12 from 4-7 p.m. The funeral will be held on January 28 at 1 p.m. at the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, 724 Main Street, Rural Valley, Pennsylvania. Interment is at the Rural Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Well, Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 5543 Sinclair Rd., Columbus OH 43229. www.thewellcolumbus.org Proverbs 20:7 "The righteous lead blameless lives; blessed are their children after them."

To the family we extend our prayers of comfort. Mrs. Harman was very faithful to our services at Abbington Court. She was a delight to know. We are saddened at our loss but we shall meet her again in heaven.
She loved God, her family, her Pa. Roots, her church family & friends. She missed her husband of 65 years and reminisced about teaching Sunday School for 30 years.
We had a memorial service in her honor on Sunday. We are so glad she touched our lives and often told her, also she blest many souls with the gospel, the good news, down through the years.
Family, she has left you such a Godly foot print to follow and example of a Proverbs 31 woman, whose children, raise up and call her blest.
Our Fervent Prayers & Love,
