Antwan Cornell Bender was born January 21, 1978 to Traci and Michael Bender-Gholson. Antwan attended Marion Franklin High School. At age 39, Antwan departed this life peacefully, Friday November 3, 2017. He is preceded in death by two beloved aunts Melinda and Sadie A. Bender. Left to cherish his memory parents, Traci and Michael Bender-Gholson; son, Anthony Bender; grandparents, Edward and Mattie Bender; sisters, Shantanee and Deanna Howard, and Sherika Sneed; brothers, Michael Jones, Antonie Bender, Markell Weatherspoon and Deion Bender; God mother, Candy Bowers; special God mother; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other family members and friends. Funeral service Saturday 12noon, Chapel of CALIMAN FUNERAL SERVICES, 3700 Refugee Rd., where the family will receive friends 11am until the time of service. Interment Northlawn Memory Gardens. We, the families of The Compassionate Friends, send you our heartfelt condolences. The Compassionate Friends is an international grief support group for parents, grandparents and siblings who have suffered the heartbreaking loss of a child. Our only mission is to provide comfort, hope and support to every family experiencing the death of a son or daughter, brother or sister, or grandchild, and to help others better assist the grieving family. We meet monthly in Columbus from 7-9 PM on the second Tuesday of each month at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1479 Morse Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229. If and when you are ready to do so, please join us. We need Not Walk Along. We are The Compassionate Friends.
