Armond Asmo Obituary

ASMO Armond John Asmo, age 91, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2012. Armond was born December 24, 1921 in Columbus, Ohio. He was a graduate of Central high school. He then joined the United States Coast Guard where he served his nation proudly. He gave 30 plus years of service to General Motors where he retired from in 1978. He had a love for playing cards, fishing, the outdoors and going to breakfast. Armond was a member of the Abbruzzi Club and Moose Lodge #11. He is preceded in death by his wife, whom he loved dearly Bette Asmo, son A. John Asmo II, parents John and Diamonte Asmo, sisters Helen Jaconetti, Edith D'Andrea, Yolanda Savely and Martha Pickens and brothers Dino and Joe Asmo. Armond is survived by his children, Beverly (Rusty) Taylor; Susan Homsher; Richard (Judy) Asmo; Randall (Tina) Asmo and daughter-in-law, Debbie Asmo Vanderson; grandchildren, Christopher (Nikkie) and Melissa Taylor; John (Courtney); Andrew (Rebecca); Nicholas; Zachary and Alyssa Asmo and Nicole Homsher; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Marisa Taylor; Avery, Blake, Austin, Molly and Davis Asmo; brother, Dante Asmo; also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends may call Wednesday, January 2, 2012, from 4-8 p.m. at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue with the Abbruzzi Club Service at 7 p.m. and Prayer Service at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church, 720 Hamlet Street. Rev. Fr. William A. Metzger, Presider. Burial St.Joseph Cemetery, 6440 South High Street, Lockbourne, Ohio.FRIENDS ARE ASKED TO MEET AT CHURCH. Sorry to read of Armond's passing. He certainly was a gentleman in every sense of the word. I imagine that Armond, my father (Steve Bullett), Curly Ianelli and several of the other former GM/Ternstead employees will soon be having a huge poker game right inside the "Pearly Gates". And as in the past, there will be no losers, just the winners that each of them was.
