Betsy Long Obituary
1953 - 2018
Betsy Long, 64, went home to Jesus on January 23, 2018. After several years of dealing with Lewy Body Dementia, she slipped away peacefully Tuesday morning at Arlington Court Nursing Home. Betsy was the daughter of the late Ralph and Mary Long and a lifelong resident of Columbus, Ohio. She was married to Rick Pheister for 15 years. She is survived by her beloved son, Tim Pheister (Ann Sanders), Rick Pheister; sister, Debbie Powell; and brother, Jeff Long; as well as many nieces and nephews, and her best friend Dareen Wearstler. Betsy worked as a medical receptionist throughout her life, and her last job was working for Better Earth. Thanks goes to friends and family that supported Tim & Betsy throughout this journey, and to the staff at Arlington Court for caring for Betsy the last 5 1/2 years. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 17 from 1-2pm. A memorial service celebrating Betsy's life will follow at 2pm at Mountview Christian Church, 2140 Fishinger Rd, Columbus, OH. Betsy loved animals, good novels & movies, the color purple, and sparkly jewelry, but most of all she loved caring for others. In lieu of flowers please support one of "the least of these" in Betsy's memory. "The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me.' Betsy was a dear friend and neighbor at NSV for many years and was very good to my mother, Gertrude Love. She will be remembered with great fondness. R.I.P. Betsy.

I remember Betsy well. She & my Brother Larry Clayton were Friends for years. She was a Sweetheart. We used to get together when I went back to Columbus. Rest in Peace . Prayers for your Family.
