Carl Massie Obituary

MASSIE Carl R. "Red" Massie, 77, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Carl was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Clara Gardner Massie, sister Betty Carothers, nephew Jack Carothers. He is survived by his wife, Deanna Massie; children, Brent (Marian) Massie, April (Leonard) Dill, Melody (Joe) LaTorre and Amy (Phil) DeVilbiss; grandchildren, Emily, Brook, Nick (Lauren), Loren (Brad), Megan, Trevor, Tony and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Bubba Pa's special buddy Zac, Becca, Kylie and soon to be baby Bloomberg; sister, Karen Harget; many nieces, nephews and friends at Lost Hollow Campground. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Taral Patel the staff at the Zangmeister Center and the Blendon Twp. Police Dept. Carl was an avid Buckeye fan and a Buckeye celebration of life will be held at his home Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 12:30-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Center for Special Needs c/o April Dill, 2166 Hanby Sq. S., Columbus, OH 43229. Arrangements have been entrusted to NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME NE CHAPEL, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus. First met Carl and Deanna through their family friend ,John Young, and then years later reconnected through Brent and Sharon Hoy`s Buckeye tailgate partys. Much fun and Carl will be missed by all that knew him. Condolence to Deanna and family.
