Catherine A. Carr

CARR Catherine A. (Valade) Carr, 75, of Grand Haven, MI (formerly Grand Rapids and Niles), died Sunday, March 13, 2005, in Grand Haven. She moved to Grand Haven from Grand Rapids four years ago; and had been a bus driver and teacher's aid for Brandywine Public Schools. She was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Niles where she had been active with St. Mark's Christian Mother's Society (now Women's Society). Catherine was an avid fan of Notre Dame sports; had been active with the local P.T.A.; and was a longtime leader for Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. Survivors: daughter, Carole R. Valade, Grand Rapids, MI; 2 sons, W. Kevin Valade, Niles, MI, and Bruce (Sharon) Valade, Columbus, OH; daughter-in-law, Debbie Liedeker, Niles, MI; son-in-law, Thomas J. Smith, Holland, MI; 6 grandchildren, Kevin J. Valade, FL; Nickolas K. (Cindy) Valade and Dustin G. (Nikki) Valade, both of Niles, MI, Geoffrey Valade Smith, Grand Rapids, MI, Lauren Catherine Valade and Christopher P. Valade both of Columbus, OH and Bill Valade, Niles, MI. Preceded in death by a sister Mary Agnes Elliott and brothers Richard and John Carr. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 3 North 19th St., Niles, MI.
