Catherine Louise "Cathy" Hartman

Hartman Catherine "Cathy" Louise Hartman, age 69, slipped peacefully away to join her husband, Al, at the right hand of her Lord and Savior on the evening of Friday, June 16, 2017. The youngest daughter of the late Herb and Mary Cuckler, Cathy attended Pasadena (CA) Community College where she played the flute in the Rose Parade, before marrying the love of her life and raising a family. Cathy moved to Reynoldsburg with her family in 1980, and remained very involved in the community until her surprising diagnosis of ovarian cancer almost eight weeks ago. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Cathy worked for Tom Tarpy Foods and Creative Circle before retiring from Kroger after 30 years of employment. Unable to sit still, she also worked for H&R Block for over 20 years (finishing the 2016 tax season just weeks before her passing) and continued to serve others in the community by collecting bread and bakery goods to help the food bank at New Faith Mission, knitting hats for newborns, and staying active with Providence Orthodox Presbyterian Church (POPC). For over two decades, Cathy was the driving force in delivering homemade cookies, fruit cakes and fudge to personnel at the Truro Fire Department, Reynoldsburg Police Department and the Mt. Carmel East ER each Christmas. Cathy is survived by her children, Hannah (Rob) Blurton, Joshua (Karla) Hartman, Serenity Miller, and Phoebe (Mark) McDonald; grandchildren, Jonathan Hartman, David "DB" Frisch, Tyler Forbes, Shanna Forbes, Ali Hartman, Aaron Jaffe, Brooklyn McDonald, and Sydney McDonald; sisters, Arlene Deichman and Marilyn (George) Long; and a multitude of other family and friends as well as her pup, Bourbon. While her loss is felt by many and she will be greatly missed; we know she is in a better place, free from pain and suffering, and we look forward to when we will see her again. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, June 23 at Providence Orthodox Presbyterian Church 7095 Summit Rd. SW, Pataskala, OH 43062, where her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial at 11 a.m. Monday, June 26 at Dayton National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of COTNER FUNERAL HOME in Reynoldsburg.
