It was a real joy and blessing when Fr. Smith, you, and Lynne came to St. Philip Church many years ago. We have many precious memories of his appreciation for the music, especially the Christmas Lynne did the violin solo (Silent Night) standing beside me in the organ pit - He will always be with us in spirit - My love to you, Lynne, and your family at this very difficult time - Smile as he is smiling in his new home in glory - Lavina R. Dear Martha & Family,

I loved Charles, Martha as I love you. He was and is always in my eyes a TALL man. Not just in stature but in spirit. He was just so caring and gentle and patience. As I watched him with you, Aunt Lucille and all of the family, as I listen to his loving stories about ma and dad and various family members, as I listened to him speak on his ideas and thoughts, as I listened to his humor and saw his smile (the way his lips curled when he smiled)....all these things and more are dear to my heart and memory of Charles. I valued his opinion and his support of my call to ministry more than I can say. It was and is important to me.

I love you dearly cousin and am looking forward to seeing you again, spending time with you like women do when they get together.

Much love and Sympathy to you.

Rev. Joyce Harris

I extend my sympathy and prayers to The Reverend Charles Smith's family. Grief does continue beyond the Memorial Service. To his wife, Sis Marti, his daughter Lynne, her family and extended Smith & Bullock family; "May the peace of God that passes all understanding be with you, comfort you and strengthen you in the days to come." Reverend Charles Smith always inquired about my well being and encouraged me in the gospel ministry. There was always a joy, peace and calm whenever he prayed or preached the Word of God.
To God be the glory and the love of Jesus Christ be with you.

Blessings,
Reverend Joyce Harris

I have known Fr.Smith since he first come to St.Philip Church. He was a wonderful church leader and person. He was there when my mother died and he also baptized and confirmed my daughter. Our church community misses him already but he has gone on to the valley of peace, which he so deserves. May God's peace and comfort be with his family
