Christine Renee Fowler

Fowler Christine Renee "Chrissy" Fowler, daughter of the late George W. Fowler III and Renee Fowler, died unexpectedly on April 7 2015. Born in Columbus, Ohio, Chrissy attended Olentangy High School and graduated from Utica High School and The Ohio State University. At Ohio State she was the 2000 Ohio State Scholar-Athlete of the Year, senior captain of the 2002 Buckeye nationally-ranked softball team, a four-time Academic All-Big Ten and four-time OSU Scholar-Athlete, an All-Big Ten Scholar-Athlete, a CoSIDA Academic All-America, member of Mortar Board and the Student-Athlete Advisory Board. Following graduation she served as a recruiter for the Ohio State program and developed the Buckeye Softball Club. She was captain of the Columbus Comets/Flames women's professional football team and head coach for the Lady Rebels U-14 traveling team. Subsequently she joined The Ohio State coaching staff and the coaching staff at University of Southern Indiana (Evansville). Preceded in death by her father, grandfathers G. Walter Fowler and Allen Stilwell, aunt Kitty Daehnke, and grandmother Helen Martin. Chrissy leaves her mother; brothers, Edward (Texas) and Arthur (Illinois); grandmother, Ruth Fowler (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and teammates across the country.
