Connie Harkin Obituary

Harkin Connie L. Harkin, 40, of Newark, formerly of Glouster, died Wednesday June 15, 2016 in an automobile accident. Born November 18, 1975 in Athens, Ohio, she was the daughter of Paul and Barbara Roback Richards. Anyone who knew Connie will remember her big warm smile. Connie was a devoted mother that adored and provided for her children with unconditional love. Moreover, she provided care and love for people of all walks of life in her personal and professional life. She was compassionate, caring, kind, patient, creative and dearly loved. She had a heart of gold and shared it selflessly with anyone she encountered. She had rock music in her soul and radiated energy. She was a leader, was unconventional, assertive, playful and unpredictable. She worked hard for anything that she believed in. Her devotion to and love for her family and friends will be ever lasting. Along with her parents, Connie is survived by her fiancée, Kevin Reifsnyder; two sons, Brandon and Kyle Reifsnyder; three daughters, Jazmin and Jenna Harkin and Victoria Reifsnyder; four sisters, Anna (Heath) Riley, Rita Hardy (Damian Hackett) Chrissy Sharp (David Runkle), Marilyn Richards (Nicholas Pidcock); 12 nieces and nephews, Amanda, Charles, Jacob Hardy, Nathan, Travis, and Adam Riley, William and Paul Sharp, David Runkle, Caleb and Bradley Cahoe and Janie Sue Pidcock; a great niece, Callie Hardy; special friends, Jessica Standley, Gisele Hopkins, Jocelyn Houck, and Misty McClelland, Joseph and Kay Reifsnyder, Sandra Erb, Dana (Rachael) Andrew, Lily and Caitlyn Todd, Kristin (John) Anderson. Connie was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Gladys and Norman Richards, maternal grandparents Ann and Joseph Roback, and a brother-in-law Jason Sharp. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 31 Republic Avenue, Glouster, OH 45732 with Fathers H. Christopher Foxhoven officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 3-8 p.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church with a vigil at 7:30 p.m. Funeral arrangements are by the MORRISON FUNERAL CHAPEL. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to The Connie Harkin Benefit Fund that has been set up at all Park National Bank locations. Kevin and family, many times you have been and will be in my thoughts and prayers. Though I didn't know Connie well, I will remember her smile. Her smile that she never hesitated in giving out to any that crossed her path.
I can't imagine your pain in the loss of your beloved, but I trust in the One who does and I pray that the Lord bring you comfort each day forth.

We are so sorry to hear of Connie's passing. She was always such a kind and generous person. We met her when she moved into our complex with the girls years ago. Jazzy and our daughter became inseparable and we felt like an extended family with Connie and Jenna. Connie was always willing to help us and vice versa, always quick with a smile. She cared deeply for her children and those she loved. We are in shock of her passing. Our prayers go out to her family. She will be missed but knowing she is in God's hands is comforting.

I worked with Connie for several years at traditions at stygler rd. Connie always had a smile on her face and was always willing to help. She was very caring and kind and I can see how much she loved her job and her family. She will be sorely missed. After she left traditions she would come to my mind on different occasions and at work we would always say how much we missed her and off course Kevin. God is good even though we don't understand why these things happen. I am praying for little jenna to get well fast.
