Cyril Abbot

ABBOTT Bishop-Abbot + Cyril (George A. Beadle), age 69, March 17, 2006 at Hartland Victorian Village. He was one of the founders of Saint Sophia Eastern Orthodox Cathedral in Columbus. A member of the Synod of the Holy Syrian Church of the East. He was consecrated sub-conditione as Bishop Abbot on May 19, 2002. He had previously been consecrated Bishop in 1993. He was Metropolitan ArchBishop of the Ukranian Orthodox Church in North America – Blessings of Kiev. He has been a professed Orthodox Monk for 43 years. He was a master tailor and made all of the liturgical vestments and altar cloths by hand. A memorial service will be held at Saint Sophia Eastern Orthodox Cathedral, 1493 Indianola Ave., Columbus, Ohio, Wednesday, March 22, at 8 p.m. Interment St. John Baptist Orthodox Church Cemetery, King, North Carolina.
