David Nardone Obituary

NARDONE David Nardone, born on 14 May 1916 was the 6th of 7 children of Michele and Giovannina Nardone, immigrants from Italy. His family originally lived in the Flytown section of Columbus but moved to Grandview Heights in the 1920s. David graduated from Grandview High School in 1935 and attended Franklin University. His work in many capacities at the Dean & Barry Paint Company and its affiliates spanned almost 60-years, only interrupted by military service in the Army Air Corps. He married M. Charlene Johnson on 3 November 1956 and lived in Orient, Ohio until late 2005. David is survived by his wife, Charlene; son, David (Mary Ellen) of Hillsboro, Oregon; three granddaughters, Molly Bradley (Brian), Erin Stone (Erik), and Megan Nardone, all from Oregon; youngest sister, Violet Melfi Bulko residing in Florida; and many nephews and nieces. David was an avid and accomplished golfer from his earliest years and relished the outdoors caring for his 5-acres in Orient. In the 1960s he served on the Franklin County Zoning Commission and in 1995 was recognized by the community of Grove City for his friendly, positive, and can-do attitude. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, long-term member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Grove City, and a member of the Senior Chorus at the Grove City Senior Center. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2008, from 2-5 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City. Funeral service will be held at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Grove City, 4227 Broadway, Grove City at 10 a.m. with Pastor James Moran officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Cemetery. Remembrances can be made on his behalf to the First Presbyterian Church Woman's Association, First Presbyterian Church of Grove City, or the American Lung Association. Dear Charlene, I am sorry to hear about the passing of Uncle Dave. I will always remember the fun times we had at your home in Orient. I know right now, Uncle Dave and Dad are arguing about who had the most birds in their yards! If there is anything you need, please let us know. Love, Joanne and Rich Miller

Dear Charlene, you know how much David meant to Sherry and me, so I can only imagine how much you hurt inside. But rest assure that he is with our Lord God, and knowing that you will be with him in the near future. I always looked up to your David, because he gave me so much inspiration, and not having him next to me in the Choir has been a big lost to me. David will always be in our hearts and well as yours. God bless you and take care of you in these hard times.
