David Robers Obituary
1981 - 2020
David Alan Robers, age 38, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 28, 2020. Dave was a loving husband, caring father, and a man of faith. He never met a stranger and was friends to anyone who crossed his path. Dave was a proud and well respected Sergeant in the US Army Reserve and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom, earning numerous awards for his service. He was a big fan of the Crew and also coached his daughters soccer team. He was a loyal member of the Buckeye Packer Backers. Dave graduated from Dublin Coffman High School in 1999 and was an aviation student at The Ohio State University. Survived by wife Anne, daughters Emerson and Kellen, parents Alan and Kathy Robers, brother Michael (Kelly) Robers, nephew David, mother in law Merrilee Stewart, father in law Ted (Pam) Rogowski, and numerous other family and friends. Preceded in death by maternal grandparents Herman and Helen Handgraaf, and paternal grandparents John and Ione Robers. Visitation will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 5475 Brand Road on Friday, February 7th from 4-8pm, with a celebration of life on Saturday February 8th at 11am; reception to follow. Pastors John Morris and Jerry Kasberg officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to his daughters college 529 plans. Arrangements completed at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 W. Broad St.

We remember David from his youth while growing up in Coventry Woods.
Our son Zach was close to his age.
Though we lost track of the family after they moved from there, it was great to learn how much he had done with his life.

The world lost an amazing soul and heaven gained one. All i can think about is that his job here was finished. I'll miss our talks about politics, tennis, gin and your amazing wife and girls. Deepest condolences to Anne, Emerson and Kellen.

The Compassionate Friends is an international grief support group for parents, grandparents and siblings who have suffered the heartbreaking loss of a child. Our only mission is to provide comfort, hope and support to every family experiencing the death of a son or daughter, brother or sister, or grandchild, and to help others better assist the grieving family. We meet twice monthly in Columbus from 7-9 PM on the second Tuesday and 2-4 PM on the fourth Sunday at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1479 Morse Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229. If and when you are ready to do so, please join us. We need Not Walk Alone. We are The Compassionate Friends.

Dave was a die hard Packer fan but more importantly a faithful servant to God. He enjoyed sharing the Good News with the children of Prince of Peace. All of our sons enjoyed hanging out with him and better understood God's message because of Dave. We know that God is taking good care of Dave. We hope that his family will know that God is caring for them as well. We will keep all of you in our prayers.
