David Terry Obituary

Terry David Terry. On September 21, 2016, a bright and beautiful Wednesday morning, David Terry passed from this life at the age of 62 after a short but heroic battle with cancer. David was born in Logan, West Virginia. He was then relocated with his family to Columbus, Ohio at a young age, and eventually came to call the city his home. David was known and loved by many. A man's man, one could not help but call him friend after seeing the neverending grin on his face or hearing his deep sonorous voice singing karaoke. As a young man, David served his country proudly as a soldier in the U.S. Army. Afterwards, he continued to exemplify his belief in building strong relationships through his lifelong work in carpentry and construction, eventually retiring from Renier Construction in 2013 as a Superintendent. Across the midwest, countless foundations are mingled with the blood and sweat of David Terry. His grand stature was outshadowed only by the generosity and kindness he showered on everyone around him. A lover of life, David enjoyed summers on a boat in Lake Erie, sipping on a cold Bud with good friends, or simply spending a lazy Sunday afternoon in fellowship with his family. David is survived by his wife, Jordana (Joey) Faber-Terry; step-daughter, Jamie Faber; grandson, Jayden Faber; son, David and Sarah Chadwell; grandchildren, Micah and Morgan; five siblings, Jay and Sue Terry, Tom Terry, Mike Terry, Monecca and David Chadwell, James and Cindy Terry; and a host of nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly. David was preceded in death by his loving mother Jean Terry and his wife Marcy Terry. A Memorial gathering of family and friends will be held at the Battelle-Darby Creek Metro Park, Cedar Ridge area, on Saturday, September 24, 2016 beginning at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org. James Dean once said, "If a man can bridge the gap between life and death, if he can live on after he's dead, then maybe he was a great man." Rest in peace David Terry, you will never be forgotten.

I was sad to hear that Dave had passed. I so enjoyed working with him at Renier. He was dedicated to his work but as importantly fun to work with.
