Dan,
My mom sent me the article about your dad's passing. I'm sorry for your loss. Even after 35 years I still have this great memory of him. I'll never forget the year in Indian Guides that our group missed the pine-wood derby and he had the whole track set up at the Booster so that we could have our race. He also gave us a tour of the paper and let us make these lead type-set things (sorry I know they must have a name) with our names on them. I kept that thing for years. Contact me if you get some time.

to the hollenback family,
i did not know this man, however, being an avid reader of the obituaries i was impressed with his caring attitude toward numerous organizations, especially the osu buckeyes. in one more year i will have the last of my 3 children graduate from osu. they were born, breed, and brainwashed to be true buckeye fans. i have told them numerous times that when my life on this earth ends i want to go out with a true buckeye theme. at my showing i insist that everyone wear those colors! they kind of think i'm "nuts" but in the end i am sure they will respect my wishes. it's nice to know there are other true and loyal fans out there. may your loved one be at peace and i will keep your family in my prayers.

I still hold fond childhood memories of him especially that day doing chores at the farm, with you Jeff. And of course his wonderful geetings at the Andersons store. He always got me laughing with his jokes and intrigued with his stories. Take care and God Bless all of you during this difficult time.

To Sally and Dan, and the rest of the Hollenback Family
My thought and prayers are with you all at this very difficult time in your lives. Remember all the fond memories that you have to cherish from a wonderful friend, Husband, Father and Grandfather.
My memories go back a long way for my family (the Chadwick's) and the Hollenback family. I believe the first time I met Don was when he worked at The Booster with his Father, Rand. I know that my late Father (Dr. Chadwick) would come in to have printing done for the Ohio Chapter, International Society of Arboriculture, of which he was serving as Secretary-Treasurer. He was always met with a smile from both Rand and Don.
Over the years, I have come to know more of the family. Thanks to Don and son Dan, when it came time for me to sell my parent's home, and they came in and told me what things could be sold, etc. Now, it is Dan who helps me get rid of more items that I refused to get rid of at the time of the move; and now realize that I should have sold items.
Sally, I believe that I first met you at one of the many Clintonville activities along with Don, and our friendship has lasted for many years.
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time for you. Know that Don is with God and is no longer suffering with his health problems.

Mrs. Hollenback, Jeff, Beth, Dan and Others -
So sorry to hear about Mr. Hollenback. I sent my Mom and Dad a note to make sure that they too heard clear down in Circleville.
I still remember sitting on a bees nest while our families got together out in "the country", so far from Clintonville/Beechwould. Ha ha.
Beth, hope to see you at our 30th High School reunion on July 26th.

To Sally and the children, I'm sorry for your loss. My mother was Garnet Frase who worked for Rand and Don at The Booster. She was a typesetter who at the age of fifty-two had lost her job in Columbus and needed work. Rand and Don hired her, and she worked until 1966 when she was diagnosed with cancer and passed away later that year. She always spoke well of both.
Several years later, I met Don at The Anderson's, and when I mentioned my mom, he beamed that smile and he couldn't have been warmer or more kind in meeting me. I've always remembered that.
Be kind to yourselves and cherish the memories.

Dear Sally and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I will never forget the great times I had working with Don. I have been a therapist for years, and he was the hardest and most determined patient I had. I will always remember him during each OSU football game and say a silent prayer during the national anthem in his memory. I loved him truly as a friend and person. May God Bless you and your family. Sincerely and with all my love, Karly

Sally and Family, My sincere sympathy to each of you in the loss of your husband, father and grandfather. My memories of Don always include a big smile and a helping hand. He was a vital part of St. John's EEC when I was there. Don also was a huge help to me when I was cleaning out my Worthington home as he appraised and sold (with Dan's help)many of my antiques. He will be missed by many.
