Donald Keith Gombert

Gombert Donald Keith Gombert, 76, of Beckley, passed away at home Monday, July 15, 2013 surrounded by his family. Born April 19, 1937 in Ravenna, OH he was the son of the late Harrison and Gladys Stamm Gombert. Donald was a Building Code Plans Examiner for the City of Beckley Code Enforcement Department and was appointed by Gov. Tomblin to serve on the Design Build Board, an honorary position. He was a longtime member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ where he served as a Deacon, adult Sunday school teacher, past Chairman of the Church Board and past Building Department Chairman. He was also on the Salvation Army Advisory Board, CAWV Board member, the AIA Rotary International and retired from SEM Partners. Donald is survived by his wife, Karen "Tipper" Gombert; daughters, Debra Segal and her husband, Michael and Denise Herold and her husband, Jay; son, Brandon Scott Privett; daughter, Jeanne McKan and her husband, Jerry; granddaughter, Samantha Tyrrell and her husband, Chris; grandson, James A. Steiner; granddaughter, Corinne Segal; grandson, Derrick Steiner; granddaughter, Cynthia Segal; grandson, Anthony Privett; grandson, Elijah McKan; granddaughter, Jillian McKan; granddaughter, Cameron Privett; great-grandchildren, Hailey Christopher and Owen Tyrrell.
