Dear Babette,
I am so sorry to hear that Joe is gone. I love his photo in the obituary. He often gave us that same look when he came into Columbus in the middle of the night to deal with some mess we got ourselves into. He was never truly appreciated until he retired. He was a great man.

I served under Chief Joseph for many years. He was a proud member of the Honor Guard and I was fortunate to serve with him on that special unit as well. Many Columbus Police alumni went on to be police chiefs in other agencies which is a tribute to his leadership at CPD. To his family, especially Babette, I offer my condolences and prayers. He will be missed more than you know.
