Edward Karr Obituary

KARR Edward J. Karr, 90, born in Trenton, N.J. went to be with the Lord on August 14, 2012. Married for 63 years to his beloved Elizabeth, who preceded him in death. Ed is survived by his son, Glenn Karr; daughter. Linda (Jack) Brownley; and former daughter in-law. Linda Karr; plus grandchildren, Merilee Karr in London, England, Jay Karr in Columbus and Laurie (Sean) MacLeod in Albuquerque, Elizabeth (Robinson) Dunham in Columbus, and Kathleen and Margaret Brownley of Denver; plus three great-grandchildren, Cameron and Katherine MacLeod and Mabel Dunham. Ed served honorably in the Navy during WWII and after the war was personnel manager for many years at Hamilton Rubber in Trenton. He joined the Post Office and moved to Columbus in 1972 and retired in 1987. During his life he was a very accomplished golfer winning many amateur golf tournaments. Ed also spent much of his time volunteering in various church and community roles. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave, Columbus, Ohio. Pastor Thaddeus Book officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the Hydrocephalus Association, 4340 East West Highway, Suite 905, Bethesda, MD 20814.
