Shea, Edward
Edward G. Shea, 73, passed away on March 2, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with sarcoidosis. Retired from the Ohio Department of Youth Services, as a Training Supervisor, with a bachelor's degree from SUNY Binghamton and a MSW from The Ohio State University. United States Army Veteran, and VISTA volunteer fighting to eliminate poverty. Devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Harriet; daughter, Laura (Waad) Abbas; son, Rob (Jessica); grandchildren, Matthew, Nathaniel, Emily, and Rose. Preceded in death by mother, Stella Shea; father, William Shea; brother, Thomas Shea. Ed's wit, charm, and big heart will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Graveside service, Monday March 5, 2018 at 11am, IJ Morris at Star of David Cemetery of Palm Beaches, 9321 Memorial Park Rd., West Palm Beach, Florida 33412. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to stopsarcoidosis.org or Wexner Medical Center, OSU Carepoint East, Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program.

My condolences to the family. The beauty of who Ed is can be felt through the love and dedication of Harriett and his wonderful children and the grandchildren. May Ed's memory be a blessing and bring comfort to all of you.

Ed was a wonderful man with a very positive life attitude. Each encounter I had with Ed left me wondering how someone could be so positive about life when so ill. Ed taught me a lot. My condolences to his family, and very loving wife Harriett, children Laura and Rob.
