Elbert Ebinger Obituary

EBINGER Elbert Charles Ebinger, 76, passed away January 27, 2011. He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Priscilla Elliott Ebinger, who died just ten days earlier, son Elliott Charles Ebinger and by his parents Amelia Heid Ebinger and Edwin Carl Ebinger. Mr. Ebinger is survived by his daughter, Mary Ebinger; son, Philip Ebinger and daughter-in-law, Beth Aisthorpe Ebinger; and son, George Ebinger; grandchildren, Roy Edward Hurd, III, Audrey Beth Hurd, Hilary Anne Hurd, David Matthew Ebinger, Jason Michael Ebinger, Brian Curtis Ebinger, Daniel Elliott Ebinger, and Tyler Alan Ebinger; brother, John Ebinger; and twin sister, Ellen Herren; many loving nieces and nephews, who were so important to him. Mr. Ebinger, originally from Hamilton, Ohio, was a graduate of Hamilton High School and Ohio State University, where he majored in Civil Engineering, played football and was a member of Woody Hayes' first national championship team, as well as a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was Sr. Vice President for Commonwealth Electric Co. for many years, after moving with Commonwealth many times and to Atlanta in 1969. Later, Mr. Ebinger started his own business, EBCO, and pursued other various business ventures. Mr. Ebinger was a past president of the Atlanta Colt Youth Association, member of St. James United Methodist Church, and dedicated parent, supporting his children in their many activities. Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 at SouthCare Memorial Center, 595 Franklin Rd. SE, Marietta, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family humbly requests that donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, in memory of Elbert Charles Ebinger.
