Many of us will always remember this wonderful lady from her visits to our classrooms during our elementary school years at French Run Elementary School in the early seventies. The fact that I remember her smile and short talks from those distant days gone-by, lends great tribute to her charisma and caring spirit while on this earth. I knew that she was very proud of her family and that she admired all that she looked upon.

i had the good fortune of knowing Eleanor when I taught in the Gahanna schools (1967-1982). She was such a delight always positive, encouraging & inspiring to all teachers. The children always responded to her warmth & caring. When I saw Eleanor in a Dublin school with my 3 year old
in later years, I have the fondest memory. After greeting me she knelt down to meet my 3 year old son, Neal. He was so taken with her that he put his arms around her for
the biggest hug. Eleanor had such a wonderful influence on all ages!
I send my heartfelt sympathy to her family. Thank you for sharing this grand lady with so many.

Mrs. Schaefer was my family's next door neighbor on Plymouth Ave. and was always there for us as my sister and I grew up. She was a good friend, neighborhood hostess, and inspiration. She was a smart, strong, elegant lady. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family. She will be fondly remembered. Linda Ahrens Bryant

On behalf of the numerous people associated with the Franklin County Schools and the Miss Ohio Scholarship Pageant, who's lives were touched by knowing and working with Eleanor Schaeffer, I am writing to extend our sincere condolences to both family and friends.
Eleanor Schaefer was a "class act" in everything she did - - - a dedicated mother, dynamic educator, energetic volunteer, etc. She touched many lives with her enthusiasm and optomistic outlook on life. We will all miss her.

How I will miss my wonderful aunt. I was always in awe of her intelligence, her strength, her curiosity, and her amazing joy and spirit. I know she was a good big sister to my mom—from the stories my mother told me about their youth, to the many visits Aunt Eleanor made to New York; she and my mom would sit for hours at the dining room table, both laughing and having serious conversation. It was clear that theirs was an unbreakable bond. I did not see my aunt much in her final years, but I enjoyed our phone calls; I can still hear her wonderful voice...I am so sad her presence no longer graces this Earth, but she stays in my heart as a woman who taught me so much, just by her example. I miss you already Aunt Eleanor.

Lainey, Chip, Laurie and Rick - My thoughts are with you in your loss. Mary Ahrens White and I visited with your mom the weekend of her birthday. Even with her body failing her, her beautiful, sunny personality was still with her. I will always remember her optimism and her love of children.

Mrs. Schaefer was my kindergarden teacher in Reynoldsburg in 1963. I have fond memories of her. My thoughts and prayers are with her entire family. Eternal rest grant unto her Oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.
