Eric Hollobaugh Obituary

HOLLOBAUGH Eric Scott "Rick" Hollobaugh, born September 2, 1960, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 31st at his home in Westerville, Ohio. Eric was a graduate of Brookhaven High School, class of 1978 and he also studied Psychology at The Ohio State University. He was employed by the State of Ohio Taxation Division. He was a dedicated student of Tai Chi, a passionate athlete and boxer, an avid reader and a published cartoonist. Eric's true passion and talents resided in computing sports statistics and team ratings. Preceded in death by his parents Dr. Samuel Hollobaugh and Annette Ashbrooke-Hollobaugh. Survived by loving and devoted wife, Eleanor; son, Derek; daughter, Kari; step-children, Michael, Jonathan, and Jessica; brothers, Rand (Cindy) Hollobaugh and Robert (Linda) Hollobaugh; uncles, Dr. Richard (Peggy) Clary, Dennis (Nanci) Clary; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; his friend of 36 years, Don Hill; and his beloved cat, Katy. Eric will be remembered for his great heart and uplifting sense of humor. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. followed by a public service at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2012 at WEIR-AREND FUNERAL HOME, 4221 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43214. Repass will follow at Mt. Gerizim Baptist Church at 2633 Mock Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43219. Contributions can be made to The American Diabetic Association.

I am so sorry about Rick, I met him through my brother Don Hill years ago. We always had great discussions about books especially Taylor Caldwell, I even gave him a hardback copy of "Ceremony of the Innocent" in 2007. He was really a great guy and will be missed. Rest In Peace Rick, you deserve it.
