Florence Whitehead Trimble

TRIMBLE Florence Whitehead Trimble, age 84, Friday, May 9, 2008, at Grant Medical Center. Florence was born in Columbus, OH, on October 5, 1923, the daughter of Lillie Levy and Reverend Henry Preston Whitehead, Sr. She was a retired Supervisor for DCSC with 35 years of service. Florence was active in the NAACP and other civic and social organizations. She played tennis and was the female Ohio State Champion in table tennis for many years. She was a member of the DCSC Retiree Lunch Bunch Club. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Henry P. Whitehead, Jr. and sister Katherine W. Franklin. She is survived by her siblings, Lillie J. Whitehead, Attorney George W. Whitehead, and James W. Whitehead; niece, Wendy Whitehead; nephew, Michael Watkins, Nolan Trimble, Spencer Trimble and Cecil Trimble. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at SCHOEDINGER STATE STREET CHAPEL, 229 E. State St. Andrew Hoover funeral celebrant will officiate.
