Francis Anthony Re

RE Francis Anthony Re age 81, of Columbus, OH passed away on Monday, December 24th 2012. Born on April 8th, 1931 in Springfield, OH to the late Charles and Anna (Cahill) Re. Francis, a computer programmer, retired from DSCC in Columbus. He was a Veteran of the Korean War conflict on the USS Caliente. Francis was preceded in death by two brothers Charles Jr. and Johnny, three sisters Marie (Tootie) (Owens) Cornwell, Betty (Jenkins) Voshell, and Helena Re, and his wife Hazel Edith Re. Survived by his nieces, Paula Bickel, Lewisburg, OH, Claudia Behm, Kettering, OH, Rejean Harris (Rick), Troy, OH and Cheryl Kripas (Earl), Springfield, OH, nephews, Bob Jenkins, Miamisburg, Ohio, Ed Re (June), Fairborn, OH, great nieces: Jessica Vaughn (Nic) London, England, Sara Schoettinger (Mike), Lewisburg, OH, Caitlyn Harris, Troy, OH, Jeannette Weaver (John), Knoxville, TN, Donna Re, Fairborn, OH, great nephews: John Re, Fairborn, OH, Bill Kripas, Springfield, OH. Francis also leaves his companion Cora and her family (Mary and Vince and children). Best friends, Marvin, Sandi, Charlie Thomas, Petit, and Dewey. Many very close friends: Norma, Ed, Jerry, along with the entire gang at Tailgaters, who made him family, especially Charlie and Weber, along with his great neighbors Donna and Dennis who helped so much. He had so many good friends and if you were not mentioned please accept our apologies. The family would like to thank the Mt. Carmel Hospice staff for their support and a special thanks to Suzi and her Great Dane, Sofie, who took the time to visit and give such joy to him. A time for family and friends to gather will be held at EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 4171 E. Livingston Ave, Columbus, OH from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, December 28th. Services will be held on Saturday, December 29th at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church 1573 Elaine Rd at 9 a.m .with the Burial to follow at St. Bernard Cemetery, 27 West Home Road, Springfield, OH.
