Frank Herb Obituary

Herb Frank Xavier Herb Jr., died August 11, 2015 in Sarasota FL, in the loving presence of his family. Formerly of Pt. Charlotte, FL, and Columbus, OH, he was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH, where he met his beloved wife Jean M. Herb (Zurcher) to whom he was married and devoted to for 68 wonderful and fun filled years. He is also survived by his three children, F. Steven (Jean), Daniel A. (Wendy), and Karen M. Graves (Steven); seven grandchildren, Tracy LeClair (Dan), Jackie Hillman, Scott Herb, Andy Herb (Crystal), Brooke Herb (Devin), Jeffrey Graves (Beth), Shelley Koch (Gus); and nine great grandchildren; as well as his brother, Jack D. Herb; and sister, Catherine M. Knue. Frank had the ability to always look at the bright side, a trait that endeared him to all who knew him and served him well in all his endeavors. He was a graduate of Xavier University, a WW II veteran (S/Sgt, 7th Infantry, Okinawa), followed by a very successful career with Metropolitan Life Ins. Co. retiring as District Manager in Columbus OH. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club. Private services Friday will be followed by burial with full military honors at Sarasota National Cemetery. Donations may be made in his honor to Tidewell Hospice. Arrangements by TOALE BROTHERS.

Jean so sorry to hear of Frank's passing. he was an amazing guy. I lost Dad on 5/20/15. I have moved mom to IL where she is in assisted living. I will always cherish the time I got to spend with you guys, you were always so fun. I know Mom and Dad both considered you great friends. Take Care. Frank will always be remembered as a very special boating friend. Jim and I had so much fun on the water with Frank and Jean and I am left with many memories. My sympathy to Jean and the family and may you all enjoy your own special memories.
