Freddie Pope Obituary

Pope Freddie Lee Pope, 72, died at 6 p.m. Sunday, November 22 at home surrounded by his loving companion Ruth "Ruthie" Rinehart and family. Freddie was born on June 3, 1943 to Freddie Jr. and Frances (Hoyle) Pope. In addition to carnival rides, Freddie also owned and operated carnival games and food concessions his entire career. In the early 80's as his reputation grew and his midway talents were recognized, Freddie was employed as the "Midway Coordinator" by the Arizona State Fair and was hired by CALEXPO (the California State Fair Authority) to be the Concession Manager. Freddie was an incredible Showman. He is preceded in death by his parents Freddie Jr. and Frances Pope. Freddie is survived by his love, Ruth Rinehart; his son, Kevin (Jamie) Pope of Lexington; his daughters, Lisa Lewis of Wheelersburg, Frances Sann Pope of Cookeville, TN, Bobbi (Colin) Pope-Mattson of Riverview, FL; step-daughters, Tina (Andy) Breece of Delaware, Julie (Doug) Cummins of Delaware, Theresa Wilgus (Ray Martin) of Delaware and Jennie (Kevin) Wyatt of Ostrander; 16 grandchildren, Zack Pope, Shon (Katelyn) Lee, Shevy (Sydney) McCarthy, Ryan Breece, Adam Breece, Kirstie Breece, Dillan Lewis, Daylor Lewis, Courtney Cummins, Jared Cummins, Morgan Wilgus, Jaymee Wilgus, Nathan Wilgus, Kyndall Martin, Josh Milner and Brylee Milner; four great-grandchildren, Madelyn Jade, Korben, Kamdyn and Kenley.
