I, too, was a classmate of Gary's at Broad Ripple High School. I am extremely saddened to know of his passing, as I always thought of him as "one of the good guys". We shared some wonderful memories together at the last reunion and it's something I will fondly remember. Gary was a wonderful person who was taken from this life before we were ready to let him go, but we also know he is no longer in pain. My sincere condolences go out to his family and friends.

Gary Olin was one of my best friends from 2nd grade through High School. We went different directions for college & I lost track of him until last summer. Catching up w/ him, hearing from afar how God had used him in so many ways to serve & bless others, I lamented I hadn't made the effort to stay close. I'm confident I would be the richer for it.
I'm grateful for his impact on my young life. I'm touched & blessed as I read the journey of his last days told thru the eyes of you, Julie & the inspiration ministered to me at this great distance. I just want to paraphrase a NT text that I believe speaks of Gary's legacy. : "For (Gary), after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep." Acts 13:36
I can only pray my life has a small portion of the impact Gary's did.
My prayers go out to you, Julie, your kids & family.

I went to school with
Gary at Broad Ripple. He was a great person and I see has gone on to be an even better person and a true believerin Jesus Christ. May God give you peace and comfort at this difficult time. Gary will be waiting for you on the other side.

I worked with Julie at the Indiana School for the Deaf. We were a few of the young teachers at the time. Several of us even attended Gary and Julie's wedding. So sorry for the family.

Gary Olin was a classmate in math and science classes at Broad Ripple High School 1961-1965. He was a very good student and an upright guy, with many interests. It was wonderful seeing Gary again at the reunion in Indianapolis in 2005. He remained his out going, sincere, and friendly self. I was not surprised that he devoted his life to teaching, and I am sure that his family, friends, colleagues and students were enormously enriched by his presence in their lives. His passing is too soon. I am sure he fought the cancer head on and bravely, as he lived life. Carol Boyer Stelling

My condolences to the Olin family. I am so sorry to hear of his illness and passing. Gary and I both began our teaching careers at North Central in the early seventies. He was a fine math teacher and I'm sure will be sorely missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time. I babysat Erika and Nathan when they were very young and have fond memories of the entire Olin family.

I had Mr. Olin for math at North Central High School in what might have been his first year teaching. It was around 1971 or '72. He was very dedicated to his profession and a very likeable teacher. We need more like him.
