I am so sorry and shocked to learn of your and the world's loss of such a great friend, scholar, businessman and educator. I worked closely with Gene in OSU Extension and always appreciated his close understanding of the "real world" in his teaching program. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Gene was a friend of mine and I really appreciated his friendship and assistance with my Extension work.
While a student and fraternity brother, Gene drove a Pontiac which did not have an ignition key, so,he tu0rned the ignition switch with a coin.
He was extremely likable. I'm saddened that he has passed away.

Gene was a special person-my thoughts and prayers are with the family. I was on the OSU Judging team with Gene in 1960. I always admired his grasp of "quality" in our judging contests. He and I ordered an "all you can eat" chicken dinner for $5.00 in Maryland and we ate 5 chickens between us. I am sorry for your loss--he will be greatly missed by the industry.
