Gloria Louise Smith

SMITH Gloria Louise Smith went home to glory on November 3, 2009 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Oh. at the age of 74. She was born September 12, 1935 to William and Emma Jane Dennis in Wheeling, W.Va. She graduated from Blessed Martin School in 1952 and obtained a degree in Dental Hygiene from West Liberty College, W.Va. She practiced Dental Hygiene in Cleveland, Oh. under Dr. John Gage and in the Cleveland Public School System. In 1969, she received an award from the National Dental Association. Later an employee of Sears and Lazarus Department Stores. A faithful member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Mary E. Castile and Harryette A. Lynch. Survived by son, William H. Smith of Boulder, Colo.; daughters, Kimberly A. Smith of Silver Spring, Md., and Christiana Smith-Williams of Columbus, Oh.; grandson, Jaylon K. Fields; sister, Judith Stewart and her husband James of Atlanta, Ga.; nephews, Alvin Castile of Golden, Ariz., and Larry Castile of Yuma, Ariz.; nieces, Kelly Smith of Atlanta, Ga. and Carolyn A. Howard of Akron, Oh.; the children's father, Alfred C. Smith, who has been a supporter and loving friend; many cousins, great nieces, nephews; and friends. Funeral 12 noon on Monday, November 9, 2009 at Gethsemane United Methodist Church, 5081 Carbondale Dr. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
