LeFEVRE Howard E. LeFevre. A celebration of the life of Howard E. LeFevre, age 101, of Granville, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, at the Reese Center, 1209 University Drive, Newark. Private inurnment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Granville. Mr. LeFevre died June 30, 2008, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born May 31, 1907, in Ashland, Ohio, to the late Harry E. and Ellen (Boren) LeFevre. Mr. LeFevre graduated from The Ohio State University in 1929 with a degree in architectural engineering. One of his first jobs was manager of a trucking company that contracted with A&P Tea Company in Youngstown, Ohio. In 1946 he founded B&L Motor Freight, which began in Columbus but moved to Newark the following year. Now known as Truck One, Mr. LeFevre drove to work at his Everett Avenue office nearly every day until just a few months ago. As an active member of the Chamber of Commerce, Mr. LeFevre was instrumental in helping set up OSU's first regional campus in 1957. In 1996, The Industrial Institute of Technology, later renamed The Works, opened in the former Scheidler Machine Works building that Mr. LeFevre bought to save from demolition. On May 18, 2008, The Works, with Mr. LeFevre cutting the ribbon, unveiled the new LeFevre Foundation Administration Building, his last planned addition to the museum. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Dick Fryman of Granville and their children, David Fryman of Nashport, Amy (Mike) Grim of Chillicothe and Libby (Luis) Aguirre of Columbus; a son, the late Jack LeFevre, and daughter-in-law, Sue LeFevre of Newark and their children, Catharine (Al) Cattabiani of Dobbs Ferry, New York, Susan (Phillip) Casby of Newark and Tom (Kelly) LeFevre of Newark; great-grandchildren, Jack, Theresa, Josh, Jessica, Jonathan, Kaitlyn, Andrew, David, Elizabeth and Cristian; sister-in-law, Virginia LeFevre of Peachtree City, Georgia; best friend, Charlotte Pressler of Newark; and special friend of the family, Jan Kirkendall of Newark. In addition to his parents and son, he was preceded in death by his wife Catharine (Bonner) LeFevre, by a sister Frances LeFevre and a brother Robert LeFevre.
