I know you don't know me but I did know Jake. I am one of Kaylen's friends and I was one of the people he went with on red, white, and boom. We had a great time and I sure hope he did too. My friend Lauren and I are making a playlist full of songs that remind us of Jake and we are also gathering a whole bunch of pictures of Jake and kind of making a big collage.
God Bless.

My family and I were at Old Man's Cave when this tragedy occurred. My cousin immediately prayed with Jacob's friends while my husband was one of the first people at Jacob's side. My husband remained with his arm across Jacob's back until help came. As the parents of three young sons, our hearts ache for your loss. May it comfort you slightly to know that Jacob was happy and smiling prior to this tragedy and he was surrounded by many, many prayers. May God Bless you.

Bob,
I are so sorry to hear of the loss of your son. We know how you feel ecause we lost our son 10 years ago in an accident. I attended the Pataskala Nazarene Church when you were just a small boy. Paul was a teen along with me at that time. I know that your heart is breaking and you don't know how you will go on, but take it from one who knows, GOD WILL SEE YOU THROUGH! Our loss is Heaven's gain and we will be together again.

I knew Jake since I was 11 and in the sixth grade. I remember he was one of my first friends that year and he came to my birthday party in the seventh grade. He was such a great friend and he had such a kind heart for everyone and everything. I don't ever remember a time when he got mad at someone. He was always so sweet and caring, and always saw the good in anything. He was one of the nicest and smartest guys I knew. That Friday he passed, I got on the computer and had a comment from him. We were having a conversation for so long, that we both forgot what it was about. He wrote me and said "I don't remember what we are talking about" I replied "I don't either. lol." His status said, "leaving, camp here I come." I didn't hear anything about his death until Saturday and the moment I heard his name on the news I ran upstairs and started crying for the rest of the night. My deepest apoligies go out to his family who I know for a fact, he loved and cared about so much. You should never have to bury your own child. Jake and I have had so many great memories together I know I can look back on them and remember him for the funny, caring, sweet, nice guy he was. I remember when he told me him and this other kid used to be called "the Midget Brothers" from then on, that's what I called him everytime I saw him. He hated it at first, but then he would join along and laugh. I also remember when he came up to me after lunch and asked me if his face was red. I told him yeah, but why? He said he had snorted hot sauce. I was so angry at him and I said "Jacob Walls! you know you can die from that!" and he replied "Caelin, you know I'm not goning to die for a long time." Who would have known that long time would just be five short months later. I know everyone who knew Jacob came into this summer thinking nothing bad would happen but then, this does. I still cry everytime I look back on our fun times, or see a picture of him anywhere. He didn't deserve what happened to him, but God has a plan for him and knowing Jake, he will do it justice. He was an incredible person and friend and he will be missed dearly. He was so young, so great, and just a terrific kid. Jake, you will forever remain in my heart as my midget brother who was way taller than me. But most of all you will be known as the one person who made a huge impact on me and changed my life forever. I love you Jake. Forever and always dude. Rest In Peace Jacob Edward Walls. To the mother of Jacob:

As a mother I could not imagine what you are going through right now. I know nothing that anyone can say or do will make your heartbreak go away or bring your son back. I did not know your son but people in my family did and they have said what a wonderful young man he was. Take some comfort in knowing that your son will always be with you in your heart and his spirit will always watch over you. They never fully leave us. You as well as his father are in my prayers in this time. Your little angel is beautiful inside and out! My prayers are with you all once again.

You do not know me, but we were at Old Mans Cave the day your son fell. We were right behind Jacob and his friends throughout most of the afternoon on the same path. I was the one who called 911 from my cell phone inside the cave moments after Jacob fell. We hugged Jacob's friends inside the cave as they were in an unimaginable state of grief.
My husband and our friend was one of the first to arrive by Jacob's side. I didn't know Jacob - but I feel in a way like I know him now. Watching him have fun with his friends at Old Man's Cave - you could tell he was such a nice young man. Jacob's death has effected me greatly. I am so sorry for your loss. He seemed like such a special person. I will think of Jacob and your family for the rest of my life.

To the Walls Family.
I was one of the ER nurses that took care of Jacob at Hocking Valley Community Hospital before he was transferred to Childrens'. I have been praying for your family since Jacob came through our door. I talked to Jacob, calling him by name and holding his hand, although he could not speak, I believe he could hear me. I pray that Jacob knew that there were many moms around him giving our love and prayers over him. I have 4 boys of my own and your loss is beyond my comprehension. Know that he is with our Lord and Savior and be comforted by the Great Physician. Again I am so sorry for your loss. God Bless you all.

July 20, 2009

Hello, My name is Courtney DeLotell and i am 13 years old.I was at the same camp Jacob was, I never got to personally meet Jacob but everytime i saw him he had a smile on his face and I could tell that he was a follower of god. I have one memory of Jacob, it was Thursday night the whole camp was around the bonfire sharing their testimonies and I wasnt going to stand up and share mine with anyone until Jacob stood up. He basically said that he would follow god know matter what life brought him and he was willing to live day by day for god because he didnt know what tomarrow would bring. At that moment when he said those words it made me realize I wanted to be like that, I wanted to be a follower of god. After Jacob testified I stood up and shared my testimony, and my life has been changed forever because of Jacob. I am very sorry for your loss, but Jacob done what god sent him to do and I am so thankful for that. Your family and friends will always be in my prayers.

I cannot imagine the pain you must feel. Please take comfort in the Word...you will see him again.

To all family and friends of Jake,

I worked w/Jake at Eagle Rock Church in The Rock Youth group for a couple of years. He was such a joy to be around, always willing to help wherever we needed him. His free spirit and humorous personality kept us on our feet, and his loving smile will be missed. We loved Jake very much. My husband, Andy and I would pick the boys up on Wednesday evenings for youth services at church because we only live a couple streets over. He will be missed by all of us. Our condolences to the family and close friends. God Bless.

Standing in shock and awe, we wipe our tears
As the “home going” news of our friend we hear.
How our hearts ache as we wonder why.
It’s too soon, Lord. He is too young to die.
There are so many things for him still to do.
Then, so tenderly, we hear the Lord speak
Such comforting words, so wonderfully sweet
“In the Lambs Book of Life, his name is found
It’s time for Jacob to wear his robe and crown.
His race is over, his work on earth is done.
Now, eternal life in heaven has begun”

May God Bless you!
