Jacqueline Groom Obituary

Groom Jacqueline Florence Groom, age 55, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 12, 2016. Jackie was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and follower of our Lord, Jesus Christ. She will be sorely missed by all of whom she touched. Proceded in death by her father Roy Satterfield. Survived by her high-school sweetheart and husband of 32 years, Mark Groom; sons, Marc and Luke; daughter, Leiah; mother, Doris Satterfield; brother, Gerald Satterfield and his wife, Colleen Satterfield; brother, Terry Satterfield and his wife, Amy Satterfield. Jackie was a graduate of Werhle High School. A member of East Side Grace Brethren Church. Successful realtor at Coldwell Banker King Thompson. Anyone who knew Jackie will always remember her outgoing spirit, contagious laugh, and unwavering faith. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI FUNERAL HOME, 1068 S. High Street. Friends and family will meet for funeral services 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at East Side Grace Brethren Church, 7510 E. Broad Street, with Pastor Chip Heim officiating. On behalf of myself, Nancy Ryan, my family, Tom and Sean Ryan, my mother, Betty Nowacki, and my brother Jim Nowacki and his wife Cathy,we would like to extend our heartfelt condolences for the loss of your wife and mother. Jackie will be remembered by all who knew her as a tender and caring person who valued her family, friends and community so very much. We remember the lovely holiday dinners she so graciously prepared for my mom and Connie Segel. It was a special treat for my mom to have a delicious home-made turkey dinner and visit with the former neighbors. Here Jackie would take the time from the holiday bustle and the needs of her own family to create a wonderful evening for the ladies from the hood. Jackie's thoughtfulness was so much appreciated and she will be sorely missed. Please know that our loving thoughts will be with you during the trying weeks and months ahead. We have been blessed to have known such a remarkable person and neighbor and believe her loving spirit will remain with you and all of us for many years to come. God bless...

Our hearts are breaking, we found Jackie by luck when we were buying a home for our son while he attended college, (we are from Lima) after he graduated we immediately went back to Jackie to sell that home and she also helped our son find his first home. We became friends, I am in the home decor business and she came to our home in Nov. with a friend to our open house for the 2nd year in a row. I am so grateful, I introduced her to my friends, and gave her a huge hug. She was so much more to us than a realtor. We will miss her...God Bless!

I remember the first time I met Jackie...smiling, bubbly, so friendly...felt like I had known her forever even though we had just met. Over time, she became our realtor and helped us move from Eastmoor into Bexley. She was just wonderful through the whole process. And, anytime our paths would cross in Bexley, we just picked right up where we left off. She was a kind and lovely woman and I am just so sorry for your loss.
