James Kennedy Obituary

KENNEDY James B. Kennedy, age 86, Thursday March 17, 2011. Graduate of Brooklyn Technical High school, Brooklyn, NY and Polytechnical Institute of Brooklyn. He held ten U.S. Patents and served as the First President of the John D. Burlie Council of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Retired Member of Technical Staff at Bell Telephone Laboratories in 1982 after 42 years service. Veteran U.S. Army WWII serving in the 805 Signal Service Company in the Pacific Theatre. Survived by wife of 58 years, Jean Dour Kennedy; seven children, Marian (Robert) Schuda, Blake (Linda), Walter, Carolyn (Ralph) Niemann, Louis, Stephen (Katie), Anne (Jim) Trakas; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Rosemary Lane and Eileen Lockwood; brother, Louis (Eileen) Kennedy; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 4661 KENNY RD. (between Bethel and Henderson). Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at St. Brendan Church, 4475 Dublin Rd. Private Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visit www.egan-ryan.com for condolences. Mr. Kennedy was a great man, having fully dedicated to the progress of his family. An exceptional intellect, who remained who demonstrated Christian humility. I always enjoyed the conversations we had. He will be greatly missed.
