Jay Noel Baird

BAIRD Jay Noel Baird, 38, of Pataskala passed away at OSU Medical Center on Saturday, August 6, 2005 after a lengthy battle with brain cancer. Jay was born to Bruce and Judy Baird in Columbus on July 10, 1967. He graduated from Licking Heights High School and the Ohio State University. Some of Jay's memberships, accomplishments and life's work include: member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Pataskala, Licking County Commissioner, Charter member of the Pataskala Rotary Club, Pataskala Area Chamber of Commerce where he was secretary, treasurer and past president, 4-H Advisor, Licking County Sheep Improvement Committee, Ohio Santa Gertrudis Association, Licking Heights School Board, Ohio Southdown Breeders, FFA, Licking County Master Shepard, Friend of 4-H Award, Licking County Republican Party, Licking County Patriots Club, Associate Member of the Licking County Republican Women, West Licking Historical Society, Pataskala 1st Charter Committee, was a realtor and broker having won the million dollar award several times. Jay had exhibited sheep at the Ohio State Fair, Hartford Fair, Fairfield, Knox and Perry County Fair also the North American International Livestock Exposition. Jay was also the recipient of the Jane Marsh Disability Awareness Award. Survived by his wife, Carol A. Baird; son, Alexander Baird; parents, Bruce and Judy Baird of Pataskala; sisters, Susan Baird, Sandra (Paul) Gundler and Catherine Baird-Veley all of Pataskala; nieces, Madelyn, Sarah, Hannah and Heather; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and colleagues. A memorial service will be held at the 2nd Presbyterian Church, Newark on Wednesday August 10, 2005 at 10 a.m. Friends may call at KAUBER-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, Pataskala, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service for Jay will be held at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Pataskala on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Judith Birdsall and Rev. Dennis Witt officiating. Interment Pataskala Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Hartford Fair-Sheep Improvement Committee, Memory of Jay N. Baird, P.O.
