Maureen Gamache Obituary

Maureen A. Gamache 57

Manchester, NH - Maureen A. (Miller) Gamache, 57, of Manchester, NH, formerly of Worcester, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by loving family.

Maureen is survived by her loving husband of twenty-four years, Philip R. Gamache; two step children, Justin Gamache of East Longmeadow, MA, and Michelle Gamache of MA; two brothers, John R. Miller, Jr. and his partner Paul Venti of Shrewsbury, and Rick Bousquet and his wife Bet of Millbury; two grandchildren, Gabriel and Amelia; aunts, uncles, cousins, and great friends. Maureen was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, John R. and Judith A. (Sokolowski) Miller.

Maureen grew up in Worcester, where she graduated from North High School Class of 1978, she later attended University of Miami and Worcester State College. She moved to New Hampshire about twenty-seven years ago to be closer to her work; and how fortuitous it was, because she soon met the love of her life, Phil, and they lived a life filled with love.

Maureen has been a District Manager with TJX Company, for the past 4 years, having previously worked for Filene's and Kohl's. She enjoyed travel, especially to her peaceful place, Aruba. She loved music and theatre, and of course before any show this foodie would love to find great places to dine.

Maureen didn't allow her illness to run her life; and she put a positive twist on any news she might learn about her sarcoma. She found a great sense of love and peace in knowing that she could help educate others with this disease as she volunteered as a moderator for Dana Farber's "Sunflower Sarcoma" blog.

Her nature was to love and remain positive through every stage of life. Her strength is something to admire, her courage is what many aspire to duplicate.

Services for Maureen will be held on Saturday, March 10, with Calling Hours from 11 a.m. until her Funeral Service begins at 1 p.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.

Maureen will be missed by many. She was so sweet, so funny and left us too soon. She personified the best in all of us at North High School. It seems just yesterday I ran into her at Rockingham mall. God heal and bless her and provide peace to her family.

I will miss our talks my friend..

My fondest memories of Maureen is in high school as we always shared our political and history views of the world. We shared a love of expressing ourselves on our thoughts and ideas. She had the most wonderful smile that lit up a room. She was so positive and kindhearted. We lost touch over the years but recently connected through the North High FB page. Once again we connected our thoughts over politics. ...we shared some laughs over it..and some serious talks. Then she told me she was sick but never once told me how sick. That was Maureen, courageous and thoughtful of others feelings. I was so looking forward to seeing her in Novemeber. I will have to wait my sweet friend. Sleep well. xoxo, Donna Petrone
