Joseph Ferretti Obituary

FERRETTI, JR. Joseph M. Ferretti, Jr. 73, formerly of Upper Arlington, Ohio, passed suddenly on November 7, 2012. Joseph was born on April 10, 1939 in Evanston IL. He graduated from New Trier High School and served as a specialist SP4 in the U.S. Army, where he became a equipment maintenance engineer. He then transferred to the U.S. Army Reserve where he later received the rank of Sargent. He moved with his family to Columbus, Ohio where he was employed for many years by Alcoa Building products as a district sales manager. Joe Ferretti Jr. will always be remembered as an amazing father, grandfather and everyone's favorite "Uncle Junie". He coached many years of Northam Park baseball and softball and will always be remembered as a fair coach who played all the kids and enjoyed every minute. He had the gift to light up a room with a joke and a smile and our hearts are broken. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren in Columbus as well as his family in Southgate, KY where he spent the last several years of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Annunziata Ferretti, his sisters Yolanda Franchi and Lena Zanzucchi, and his wife Mary Ferretti. He is survived by his four children, their spouses and seven grandchildren. Michelangelo, Terri and Joe Ferretti; Catherine and Michael, Nate, Mary Nicole and Mitch Scott; Veronica and Terry, Ryan, Theryn and Bella Dick; Claudia Ferretti. He is also survived by his brother, Vito and Bea Ferretti; and sister, Mini Di Clementi; along with his long time partner, Jane McCulley and her family. A small memorial service for close friends and family will be held on Wednesday, November 14 at 4 p.m. at the Rodman Funeral Home, 5464 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43214

One of my favorite memories of Uncle Junie was watching him make marble jewelry in Grandma's basement! There are so many memories he leaves all of us with. We were so fortunate to have him in our lives and he will be missed by all his family and friends. Safe to say he was the favorite Uncle of all his nieces and nephews and there are lots of us! Our hearts are broken but the smiles he leaves us with will help to lighten the pain. Love to all of the Ferretti's.
