I met Mr. Lofurno in 2002 when we moved across the street from him. He was always delightful to talk with, was was always the "quintessential Southern gentleman". I will always remember with fondness our visits in his den, living room, dining room, or on the front portch, the trips to Willet Hall together for concerts, and the Christmas treats he would make for us. His mind was so sharp and his memory was long. I learned so much about the history of Sterling Point from him. I know his family will miss him. Joanne and Gloria, you did well in helping him stay in his beloved home and among his many, many friends in Portsmouth. I will always remember him with fondness.

Joanne, Gloria, and Family,
I'll always have fond memories of Uncle Joe. When they came up with the name "Joe Cool," they must of had him in mind. He was always such a gentleman, dressed well, kept his cool, and genuinely cared about the well being of others. This world could use a lot more like him. Our thoughts are with you.

Dear Gloria and Joanne,
I was so sad to hear about Uncle Joe. He was always one of my favorite uncles, and fun to be with. I used to love going to your house at Christmas! Please accept my sympathies. Love, Kathy Graf Merlo
