Joseph P. Sauro

SAURO Joseph P. "Joe" Sauro, 84, of Columbus, passed away on May 4, 2012, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born March 19, 1928, in Mingo Junction, OH, son of the late Dominick and Mary Diorio Sauro. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his sisters Mary Young and Rose Lint. He served in the Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Joseph retired from the Post Office with 32 years of service. He was a member of St. Anthony Parish, Flytown Club, Amici Dioro, Amvets Post #20 and #89, National Association of Letter Carriers Branch #78 and 10 year President of Northland Golf. Joseph enjoyed woodworking, golfing and was an avid walker. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Martha Kramer Sauro; daughter, Jane (Tim) Crouch; grandchildren, Cameron (Christina) Smith, Molly Vinka and Jesse Wipert; great-grandchildren, Hayden and Grayson Smith. Visitation will be May 9, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd, Columbus. Funeral service will be Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
