Keith Foster Obituary

Foster Keith Foster, age 75, of Gahanna, Ohio, passed away in our "snowbird" Florida condo Sunday, February 9, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. It was a peaceful passing as he was facing the gulf as the sun was setting. Keith was born to the late James and Mary (Rhodes) Foster on September 20, 1938. He was a class of '57 North High Polar Bear graduate, served in the U.S. Army, and a retired Western Electric/AT&T supervisor. The arrival of the fall/winter seasons always meant it was time for two things he was passionate about; deer hunting and Ohio State football. Through life's journey he was seen by all to have and give great strength as the song by Bob Seger "Like a Rock" suggests. Keith was a class act. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda (Hale); daughters, Jill Foster, Dawn (David) Koehler, Tonya (Jason) Sherburne; son, Kirk (Jodi) Foster; grandchildren, Ross (Amy) Koehler, Drew Wigg, Alexa (Marcus) Rivera, Rhett Koehler, Cole Sherburne, Kennedy and Oakley Foster; siblings, Maxine Crawford, Vivian Miller, Bev Chaney, Bill Foster; sister-in-law, Vonda (Todd) Bell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Keith was preceded in death by siblings Char (Bill) Wright, Mary Jane (Chuck) Thornton, Jim (Mary) Foster and brother-in-law Sonny Chaney. His wishes were to be cremated and to have a gathering/party celebrating his life. The details will be forthcoming in the Spring. In lieu of flowers or donations, Keith would ask that you raise your glass in remembrance of him.

Linda and Family - I just learned a couple of days ago about Keith's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time. May God grant you peace! I probably did not find out like I might have as Alice passed away soon after that and was at Ohio State from Feb. 8th and passed away Feb. 18th. As you probably know, she also had long battle. So sorry for you and your family. May God Bless!

We were sorry to hear of Keith's passing. Our prayers go out to Linda and all his family. Keith will be missed but not forgotten by all that knew him. Keith's natural charm and wit make him the center of attention of whatever was happening. No matter what the situation Keith would find an antidote to improve the event or occasion. Keith was the kind of guy everyone who knew him wanted to be around him. Thanks for the memories!
