Lawrence Paul McNutt

McNutt Lawrence (Larry) Paul McNutt, 70 of Pickerington, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2013. Larry was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, serving as a Sergeant in the US Army, 167th Signal Corp. His career was spent with CSX Railways, where he retired after 30 years of service as a general yardmaster. Larry was a devoted husband, father and brother who cared deeply about his family. He is preceded in death by his parents Guy Carroll and Leah Eulalia as well as his brother Guy Carroll Junior. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou; and his children, Larry C. and Amanda (David Powell); as well as his brother, Jim. Larry's hobbies over a lifetime included model railroading, vintage cars, fishing and boating in his 1957 Criscraft wooden boat on Buckeye Lake. Larry loved being near the water. He is a proud member of the Pickerington American Legion and Buckeye Lake VFW. Larry also volunteered many hours bettering the lives of children through his work with the Charity Newsies. The McNutt family would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers and friends at the Pickerington Wesley Ridge Retirement Community who embraced Larry and deeply enriched his life. Friends may visit 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Road North, Pickerington, Ohio 43147, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday with Rev.
