Lenora Brown

BROWN Lenora (Shepard/Nelson) Brown, age 79, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 20, 2005. She was born to Sidney and Ella (Newsome) Shepard April 23, 1925 in Winding Gulf, WV. She was preceded in death by both parents, husband Edward Brown and brother William Shepard. She was a "Mother of the Church" at Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies. She leaves to cherish her memory, 10 children, Athena (Bonnie) Curry, with whom she made her home, Joyce (Samuel) Webster, Larry (Priscilla) Nelson, Dianthia (Walter) Lowry, Theresa (Earl) Foxworth, Edward M., Lisa, Lester, Anthony, Timothy (Yvette) Brown; and 2 grandchildren, whom she raised Andrea Brown Hill and Andre' Brown; 3 sisters, Donella (Lawrence) Crowder, Pearl (Howard) Washington and Lucy Horton; daughter-in-law, Francine Brown; 33 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, including Ocie Dixon, Joann Rankin, Susan Henry , Lorraine Penn, Tammy Robertson and Mario Stephens. The family will receive friends Monday, April 25 from 11 a.m.–12 noon at Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies Church with the Funeral Service to follow at 12 noon. Dr. Sherman S.
