Marie Girbert Obituary

GIRBERT Marie C. Girbert, age 98, of Grove City, lived life to the fullest and passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred W. and Blanche Grant, husband Walter N. Girbert, 11 brothers and sisters, son Roger Girbert and grandson Steve Wynkoop. Survivors include her daughter, Shirley (Don) Wynkoop of Columbus; son, Fred (Sally) Girbert of Florida; grandchildren, Cheryl Nauriyal, Mike Girbert, Karen Hollander, Ron Girbert, and Susie Barton; 11 great- grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Sue and Dorothy Grant; many nieces and nephews; and great friend, Lou Ardit. Marie loved her Literary Club, Civic Club, Bunco Group, and Card Club. She volunteered at Mt. Carmel West for 19 years, she was a 60 year member of the Eastern Star, and a lifelong member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grove City, Ohio. The family would like to thank the staff at Emeritus at Pinnacle for their care and kindness. Friends may call Monday, July 26, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. with Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 1 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3220 Columbus Street, Grove City, Ohio. Pastor Donald Allman officiating. Interment will follow at Grove City Cemetery, Grove City, Ohio. Contributions in Marie's memory may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 540 Officecenter Place, Suite 100, Gahanna, Ohio 43230 or a charity of your choice.
