Auntie lay you are missed daily... the last time we saw you you were so happy we were there to see you and for you to meet my girl.. god has truly gained an angel..such a sweet woman and such a big heart.. we have so many memories that i will always cherish.. although you are extremely missed.. your smile..your laugh..and just the presence of you, would light up an entire room every single time... you were a strong woman and put up a big fight...now you're in heaven..watch over all of us, auntie lay..we love you and miss you more than words could ever describe... until we meet again, rest peacefully ... love for eternity...

My prayers are with the entire family of Melissa. The race isn't given to the swift, nor to the strong but to those who endure until the end. God has blessed Melissa to be "Free At Last". There is no more pain, no more sleepless nights, now she's resting in the arms of Jesus and everything is alright. Rest on sweetheart you've finished your course and past the test. Though we loved you dearly it is God who loves you best. God has spoken it is finished.............so let the church say Amen!

Melissa, man you are totally missed right now. When I first met you through our baby girl Sh'nell I remember calling you the woman with 9 lives, then after you made it beyond the 9 lives, teasing you that you were the only person I knew that had more lives than a cat. We would laugh and joke about it. Today I can no longer tease you about the stubborness you had and the strength through your fight tht you endured. Rest now, you don't have to fight anymore, no longer in pain, no more hospitals. Know there will never be another Melissa who can fight death the way you did. We will continue to watch over Sh'nell, she will be alright. Say hello to my Mama for me. Love and miss you.

It just seem so freaking unreal right now.Just four years ago we lost Jeff and now four years later were loosing you. Both of mommas first born gone to glory.For the last 16 yrs you battled diabetes.Such a terrible disease. Lay the doctors had said you should have been gone long before now. BUT GOD!! Through it all I bless and praise God that you are no longer suffering or in pain.I can only imagine what your thoughts were and how you were feeling. But through all that you were going through, Lay I truly believe that you had a little talk with Jesus and made it all right.Momma, Sh'nell and all of the family is hurting right now, but with time and prayer we all will make it through and will be alright.I take comfort in knowing that on last Wednesday July 8th 2015 when I walked in your room gave you a kiss on your forehead looked you in your eyes and told you I LOVED YOU. If we all live right we shall see you again. So big sis sleep on and take your rest until we meet again in that great getting up morning.
