Milagros Neuman Obituary
Mila moved to a better place on August 30, 2018. She lived a wonderful life and leaves behind her soul mate of 50 years, Pedro Senior; three children, Pedro, Pablo and Erxis; six beautiful grandchildren, Collin, Dylan, Field, Ford, Riley and Elizabeth; two daughters-in-law, Dare and Katie; a son-in-law, Steve; and a family of teachers and students at her Kare-A-Lot day care centers. Mila loved Upper Arlington, where she lived for 45 years. She was wise and kind, but had lofty expectations for everyone she knew. Mila was a mother to many and a friend to all. She gave away her time and money for those who needed it more than she did and she never expected anything in return. She was devoted to her faith and to The Thomas More Newman Center, where she found the guidance needed to survive life's tribulations. She is missed dearly, but her gifts will live on for generations. Please send donations in your own name and those of your children to The Thomas More Newman Center to allow others the same opportunities of peace and guidance that she had for so many years. Service will be held at the Thomas More Newman Center, Friday, Sept. 7 at 5:30 pm.

Mila was inspirational woman. She always inspired me; to be the best that I could be. Without Mila I wouldn't have the opportunities that I have now. To be apart of something grand and unique; to be a part of the Kare-A-Lot family. Which I've been apart of for 6 wonderful years.

Mila was an extraordinary woman who did so much for our family. My two children thrived under her care at Kare-A-Lot. She gave such sound advice and created a wonderful environment. We have so many happyl memories of those early days. We are sending love and peaceful thoughts to her family, especially Erxis who was also adear friend to all of us.

When I was in high school the summer before I started my program Mila let me come and observe the center so I knew what my program would be about. Then in 2016 I was fortunate to get my 1st job at Mila's center in Grandview. She always encouraged me and asked how school was going. Even though she fighting then she always had a smile on her face. I was very fortunate to have such a great mentor in my life.

Mila was very special to our family. She had a big umbrella or tent for all children and taught me so much about how to appreciate all children. She was a great lady and will be missed in our community. My kids have many fond memories of KAL, we spent many years there. Remembering our holiday celebrations, always encouraged kids to be their best with high expectations.

My son graduated from high school this year but his first graduation was from Kare A Lot. Mila not only taught and cared for my children, her advice and guidance made me a better mother. She touched many lives.

Mila was very special and will be missed. She was integral to my children's development. We had a child enrolled at KareALot for 11 straight years (and one even worked there later.) She really did Kare A Lot about those kids, and they loved and respected her in return. As others will attest, there are so many "Mila-isms" that we won't forget, like "Don't dress them up for daycare, they will get dirty, that's how they learn.", "Bundle them up, they're going outside", and our favorite (that my kids still say to one another) "You get what you get, and don't throw a fit!" Mila was one of a kind.

So sad to hear of Mila's passing. Such a beautiful soul who will be greatly missed. I trusted Mila and the KAL staff with my children because the first time I met Mila I knew she provided childcare not for the money but because she loved all the children so much. Although it has been many years, I am still so grateful I found Mila and for the wonderful care she provided to my children. I leave this picture of Mila and her beautiful smile with my son Josh at his KAL graduation in 2005. My condolences to Mila's family. Mila will forever be in our hearts.

With no family in the area, it meant the world to me as a new mother to be able to entrust Mila with our child and to have her help me learn to be a mother. At KAL, Alexa found great joy with Mila, the other teachers, and her close buddies, like Katie Padavick (as in this picture from 1999). Our heart goes out to Pedro and their sons, of whom she was SO proud! We will be forever grateful for Mila's enormous spirit and exceptional care of our child and our family.
