Nicholas Ehrhardt Obituary
1966 - 2017
Nicholas K. Ehrhardt died suddenly on his 51st birthday, the result of a motorcycle accident. He was born August 24, 1966 in Milwaukee, WI to Charles Nicholas Ehrhardt Jr. and Diane Lois (Rolfs) Ehrhardt. Nick graduated from Wausau West High School, attended UW-Stout and graduated with honors from Park University. He served in the U.S. Air Force 1987-1992 and continued serving his country through civil service at DFAS. Nick lived his life to the fullest, enjoying every moment. He loved his Green Bay Packers, shenanigans, motorcycle trips and his family. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sons, Matthew (Monica) and Christopher; his other half, Renee Moretto and her son Tives Moore; his brother James (Jan); sister Janet (John) Stolp along with their daughters, Stephanie, Jennifer, Samantha and Stacey; aunts, uncles, extended family and lots of really great friends and colleagues who enriched Nick's life. Family will welcome friends 1-3pm and 5-8pm Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230. Funeral Service 10am Wednesday, at Meadow View Church of Christ, 6750 Raiders Rd. Frazeysburg, OH 43822 with burial to follow in Perryton Cemetery; Sam Dunn, minister. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Matthew and Monica Ehrhardt for establishing an education fund for Nick's expected granddaughter, Ella Nichole. We loved Nick at Park University. He used to call me up and tell me it was my favorite student. We were so proud of Nick getting his degree. He joked about how long it took him to complete his bachelors degree. He enjoyed life so very much. He was always smiling and he loved his Packers. He talked about his family every time he came into the Park Office. He will truly be missed. Your family will be kept in our thoughts and prayers. Love to all of you.

Nick was the last boss I had before I retired from DFAS 5 years. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life. Always talked about his sons and love of the motorcycle trips he took. I am heartbroken that such a wonderful human being left so quickly. He will be deeply missed and I will always have fond memories of Nick. I feel privileged to have known and worked with him. Dear Ehrhardt family and friends,
I knew Nick from several years ago, since he was a friend of my sister's when they both worked at DFAS.
I remember that he attended her college graduation and the party afterward. Several of us spent Christmas day together several years ago.
He was a jovial and friendly guy and we sisters enjoyed his company.
I was so sorry to hear of his death and wish the family and friends the comfort that comes from happy memories of Nick.

Nick was a wonderful boss and mentor at DFAS. He was an inspiration to me. He changed my life permanently. I remember a classroom experience at DFAS that he encouraged the instructor. Whatever he said in a note made her laugh so hard that she could barely speak for a time. He had a wonderful, vibrant sense of humor and outlook on life. I never saw Nick to be unkind to those below him in rank.
