Ralph Hite Obituary

HITE Ralph E. Hite, age 83, of Ashville, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born December 21, 1925 at Columbus, Oh., to James F. and Della Elizabeth Fetters Hite. Retired from the US Postal Service. Veteran of WWII, member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Lockbourne, American Legion Post #1, Franklin Co. (40 & 8), Commander of DAV Post #70, Circleville, POW Post #15, St. Matthews Dart Ball League, National Association for Retired Federal Employees, St. Matthews Brotherhood, Ashville Area Heritage Society. Preceded in death by parents, wife Freida Logsdon Hite, brother Charles Ray Hite. Survived by daughter, Elaine (David) Turner, Virginia Beach, Va.; sons, Andrew Hite, Ashville, Geoffrey (Brenda) Hite, Circleville; sister, Ruth (Donald) Schafer, Pickerington; grandchildren, Laura Lynn and Benjamin Hite; one niece and two nephews. Friends may call Friday, October 23, 2009 at the OLIVER-CHEEK FUNERAL HOME, Ashville, Oh., from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Service will be at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Lockbourne, Oh., Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor William Karrick officiating. Friends may also call 1 hour prior to service. Burial at Fernwood Cemetery. Family suggests memorials be made to St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 99 Commerce St., Lockbourne, Oh. 43137 or charity of choice.

I liked Uncle Ralph. He was always a nice guy. He always made my trip to the farm very enjoyable. Only 1 rule. Don’t climb on the hog pins.

Andrew - Hope you still have the opportunity read these post. I was sadden to hear about your lost. Your father appeared to be very loved by the community, which says a lot about his character.
