Richard Elton "Rick" Arden

Arden Richard "Rick" Elton Arden, 66, of Columbus, OH, passed away on April 20, 2016. Rick was born on October 26, 1949 in Charleston, WV. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by wife, Janelle (Poling) Arden; mother, Imogene (Asbury) Arden; sons, Brian Arden (Janey Kent) and Tim (Kara) Arden; and granddaughter, Emma; daughter, Paige (John) Ricci and granddaughter, Nola; brothers, Mike (Kay) Arden, Steve (Martha) Arden, Allen (Diana) Arden, and Kevin (Cheryl) Arden; sisters, Frances (Richard) Surface, Alena (Randy) Barnett, and Vicki (Brian) Roach; 19 nieces and nephews; 17 great nieces and nephews; aunts, Arlene (Asbury) Elkins and Delores (Asbury) Hill; sister-in-law, Janene (Jim) Addonizio; mother and father-in-law, Calvin and Marilou Poling. He is preceded in death by father Richard Howard Arden. Rick retired from Lucent in 2007 with 35 years of service. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Canal Winchester. Rick was a decorated veteran of the United Stated Army, serving in Vietnam, as Team Leader, Company H Rangers, 75th Infantry Airborne with the 1st Calvary Division. His hobbies were woodworking, golf, and spending time with his many friends. Family will receive friends on Sunday, April 24 from 3-5 p.m. at COTNER FUNERAL HOME, 7369 East Main St., Reynoldsburg, OH. The funeral will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 28 Elm St., Canal Winchester, OH 43110 at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 25.
