Richard Dent Obituary

Dent Richard E. Dent, 81, of Columbus, passed on April 8, 2015. He was born June 24, 1933 in Columbus to Robert and Fern Dent who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his first wife Ann Grabill Dent, second wife Lora Dell Dent, sister Jane (Fred) Conard, brother Robert (Mildred) Dent and a step-daughter Josie Hunger. He is survived by daughters, Vickie (James) Wagner, Susan (Steve) Runyon, Cheryl Dent, Amy Dent; step-daughter, Paula (Jody) Spinosi; grandchildren, Nathan (Carina) Wagner, Stevenson (Samantha) Runyon, Stephanie Runyon, and Richard "Seth" Wagner; step-grandchildren, Anthony (Kristin) Spinosi, Christopher (Kara) Spinosi; great-grandchild, Spencer Runyon. Richard retired after more than 30 years with Columbia Gas Company, where he started right after his stint in the US Navy where he was a veteran of the Korean War aboard the Destroyer USS Hazelwood DD-531. He was an avid Buckeye Fan and Patriot who loved his country. Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME SW, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. The family requests those in attendance wear their favorite casual Buckeye or Patriotic attire. To leave a message for the family, please visit www.newcomercolumbus.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Wounded Warrior Project, the Diabetes Assn. or perform a random act of kindness which Richard had a habit of doing.
