Robert Crowley Obituary

CROWLEY Robert W. Crowley, age 75, a long time resident of Upper Arlington, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 30 surrounded by his family. Bob was the son of Catherine and Michael Crowley. He was a New Jersey native and graduated with a degree in economics from St. Peters College. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Midway. He moved his family to Ohio in 1972, and retired from Gates McDonald Co. in 1993. He was a gifted artist, and enjoyed sharing time and talent with other local artists at the Columbus Cultural Arts Center. He is remembered for his vibrant personality. He never knew a stranger and was everyone's best friend. He was a devoted husband to his deceased wife Barbara A. (Kersting), a loving brother to 13 siblings, and a caring uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his sons, Robert and Kevin (Sheryl) Crowley; and his daughter, Mary (Tom) Lorenz. The love of his life was his grandchildren: Robby, Mariah, Bryan, Meaghan, Patrick, Bridget, and Maggie. A funeral mass to celebrate his amazing life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at St. Agatha Catholic Church in Upper Arlington . Msgr. David R. Funk Celebrant. Bob's generosity continues with his participation in the Anatomical Gift Program at Wright State University's School of Medicine. His wishes do not include a funeral home. We will celebrate his life with a gallery opening of his art at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Robert Crowley Fine Art Education Fund at the Arlington Bank, 2130 Tremont Center, Columbus, OH 43221. Our family thanks the Homereach Hospice, and the wonderful nurses and staff who cared for him during his short illness.

Kevin & Sheryl,

I just heard the news today. To say I was shocked would be an understatement. Your dad was absolutely one of my favorite people; he always made everyone feel welcome in his house. I have many fond memories of drinking beer with him and listening to his stories when we were all gathered together in "El Ranchero".

You, Rob & Mary are all in my prayers.

Dave
