My deepest sympathy to Reverend Roy's family. Passing on to Heaven is what he looked forward to at his journeys end. He served God with gladness and worked steadfastly to help so many in this life. I am so thankful I was one of those blessed to share in his Christian journey and for the prayers I know he has said for my family and me. I will never forget his teachings, preaching, singing and praises to the Lord. Roy & Ruth singing the song "How Great Thou Art" together at Sonshine Mission will forever be a precious memory for me. What a beautiful legacy he leaves for his family to cherish. May God give peace and comfort and continue to watch over all the family and friends Roy so loves.

I can't tell all of you what a great man I thought Roy was. He was always positive and upbeat. He always had a kind word and smile for everyone. He and Ruth, along with others at Sonshine Mission, made going to church such a wonderful experience.

To the family, I thoughts are with all of you.

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith..." That is one of the scriptures that Roy quoted to my husband and me when we visited him at the hospital one Saturday morning. Right before we left, he said "I believe I'll be going home soon." I looked at him and pointed upward and said, "Do you mean your Home above?" He shook his head yes and there was a tear in the corner of his eye. We talked about old times and sang parts of the song he and Ruth used to sing called "The Upper Window." One of the nurses printed off the lyrics so we could sing the verses that we couldn't remember. That day will always be a special "Roy memory" for me.
Roy was a wonderful man, a dedicated Christian and someone that I have always had high confidence in. When I would see him, he always said, "Elizabeth, I pray for you every day." Roy was quite an inspiration to MANY people over the years and I am sure that all of the young people I grew up with in Sonshine Mission will agree.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family during this time. Roy would say "Praise the Lord anyhow." He's doing his praising in a better world. He has joined Ruth and so many others that have gone on HOME.
Roy helped with my father's funeral and then did the service for mom's just a week before he went into the hospital. Our family loves Roy and his family very much. To Margie and all of the family - Roy has finished his course and he kept the faith! Plan to meet him in Heaven someday.

This is to Mr Murray's 4 kids.Your Dad was a very good man and he liked to help his Neighbors on Clabber Rd.He helped Bill cute down a tree,he cut it up and even knew a guy that came and got the wood.Him and I liked to argue and he would end up laughing at me but with love.
We always had to laugh when he started the grill.Everytime you would think he blowed it up.Then there was his ice cream,he had to have a bowl in the evening. He has been moved away for sometime and didn't see him but a couple times, we will still miss him just as we did your beautiful Mother.Love Treva & Bill Burton

When I was a little girl up until my early teenage year's, I couldn't wait to go to Church at Sonshine Mission with my Grandparent's Oscar and Glady's Leach. Roy and Don were the reason's I had wanted to go. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to see them. Throughout the year's I would continue to ask Grandma and Grandpa about them, their families, and Sonshine Mission in general. I truly admired Roy ! In 2007 I was fortunate to meet his wife Margie. He did my Grandma and Grandpa Leach's sermon when they both passed away in 2004 and 2007. That truly meant so much to my family. Roy even talked me into doing the Eulogy at Grandma's funeral. I will never forget how he laughed at me when I said..Why, Is it because I have the gift to gab ? He laughed and said Yes ! Roy and Margie gave me the confidence to do it. Thank You both ! I will never forget the man that Roy was and my admiration will continue. God bless his Family and Friend's and help comfort them during this hard time. Roy, you will alway's be remembered and while you are up there rejoicing with other Family member's and Friend's, please tell Grandma and Grandpa I Love them so very much and miss them terribly !!!! God Bless You, Love,

Roy was an amazing man who served God while here on this earth. He was a loving husband, father, step-father, grand father, great grand father, and friend. It is very hard to say goodbye to him and we don't want to, but we need to remember that he touched so many people's lives, so positively. He leaves an amazing legacy behind. Roy left the world a better place than when he found it and for that we always be grateful. Roy, we miss you - but we will remember you always! Love, Joyce & Chuck
